A maker’s note
Golf is the rare game you can play for life. It keeps you competitive, gets you outdoors and brings friends together. It started for me at summer golf camps as a kid, and it has led me to new courses ever since.
Most sports art belongs in a child’s room or a bar. I wanted a piece that holds its own in a living room or a study. Thousands of colored golf tees, set one by one, come together into a single picture of a hole, with a depth and texture a print can’t match.
A gift means more when you’ve put something of yourself into it, so each kit is built by hand, tee by tee. Or have it arrive finished and ready to hang. Either way, it’s a hole worth remembering: the one you played on a trip you’ll never forget, or the one you dream of playing someday.
How each piece is made
Drawn to scale
Every green, bunker, tee box and stretch of water sits where it does on the real hole, at its real size. A small bunker stays small; on some holes it’s a single tee.
Colored tees
Real wooden golf tees, 1-5/8 in long and colored top to tip, in colors chosen for each part of the course: fairway, rough, sand, water and the green itself.
A birch panel
A pre-drilled 24 × 36 in birch plywood panel with a warm ivory face and birch sides. Each tee drops into its own hole and rests at the same depth, so every tee stands the same height.
Built by you, or for you
Build it over an evening or two, or have it arrive finished and ready to hang.
